Grandma’s Marathon is the 12th largest marathon in the United States, with more than 9,000 registered participants each year.
It is traditionally held on Patriot's Day every year - the third Monday in April. It is a point-to-point race that actually has a negative elevation gain (-459 feet) from start to finish. Crowd support surpasses 500,000 people every year and this is New England's most-viewed sporting event. There are literally thousands of people lining the entire course from start to finish.
